New Function: AI Thermal Displacement Compensation
Mechanism part of machine tools which require high machining accuracy are deformed by thermal expansion of metal even with slight temperature changes. Therefore, machining accuracy is affected by displacement (thermal displacement) of machining point position.
In AI thermal displacement compensation, AI generates thermal displacement model using temperature information got from multiple temperature sensors. Using this model predicts and compensates for displacement of machining point and suppressing the influence of temperature changes on machining accuracy and achieve highly accurate and stable machining. In addition to relaxing of machine installation environmental condition, this function contributes to energy saving by shortening warm-up operation time by suppressing influence of thermal displacement in short time even during period from when power is turned on until the machine tool temperature stabilizes.
Thermal displacement compensation model that AI generates based on temperature and thermal displacement measurement information is automatically generated with a dedicated model development tool. This tool generates compensation model that can obtain stable compensation performance not only for machine tool that collected training data but also for machine tools with different serial number that may have individual machine differences. Furthermore, it automatically detects abnormal training data and supports generation of compensation model with high compensation accuracy and reliability.

Temperature sensor input unit is a new unit that can input temperature sensor signals for thermal displacement compensation.
Although this unit is a small unit that is the same size as the distribution I/O module for connector panel, it can connect 16 channels of temperature sensors and can collect a lot of data with one unit.
With a resolution of 0.01 degrees Celsius temperature data can be collected in 1/10 unit of conventional unit. The improved resolution enables more accurate compensation.
The sensor that can be connected is a thermistor and non-waterproof type and waterproof type (bolt type, block type) are available.
