IMTS 2024

IMTS 2024 was held at McCormick Place Convention Center, in Chicago, U.S.A., for six days from September 9 (Mon) to September 14 (Sat). The total number of registered visitors amounted to approximately 89,000, and with so many people, the venue was abuzz with excitement each day.

In the FA corner, the most recent CNC products such as Series 500i-A, αi-D series SERVO, Slice I/O, and FANUCiPC, along with Smart Digital Twin which replicates a digital twin of a CNC, were exhibited. The Ghost Machine 2.0, fitted with the latest CNC model Series 500i-A, was displayed on a large screen depicted as an actual machine, working in harmony with the operations of the CNC. The exceptionally impressive exhibit caught the attention of many visitors.

In the ROBOT corner, the newest robot controller, R-50iA, was used in many exhibits such as AI bin picking, allowing visitors to directly appreciate the innovation of FANUC ROBOTs. A total of 24 systems demonstrating various applications were exhibited. These included high-torque screw tightening by the collaborative robot CRX, and laser machining by the high-precision robot M-800, attracting crowds every day.

In the ROBOMACHINE corner, the latest models, ROBODRILL α-DiB Plus, ROBOCUT α-CiC and ROBOSHOT α-SiB, were used in live demonstrations of a wide variety of machining and molding, highlighting their outstanding basic performance and diverse range of use. A proposal of automated systems using ROBOTs also impressed visitors.

In the IoT corner, demonstrations of different software such as ZDT, FIELD system Basic Package and MT-LINKi were on display. Crowds gathered to see digital data being used, such as in operation monitoring, to improve productivity and to support traceability.

In the Service corner, FANUC’s global service system, ROBOT remote maintenance, various on-line support, FabriQR Contact, lifetime maintenance and the abundant training courses offered by FANUC Academy were shown. With such services, visitors could feel reassured about using FANUC products anywhere in the world.
