JIMTOF 2024

For six days from November 5 (Tue) to November 10 (Sun), 2024, JIMTOF2024 (The 32nd JAPAN INTERNATIONAL MACHINE TOOL FAIR) was held at Tokyo Big Sight (Tokyo International Exhibition Center).
The number of exhibitors and booths set a new record with 1,262 companies and 5,743 booths, increased from the last time that was held physically for the first time in four years after COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the organizers, the number of visitors from Japan and overseas totaled 129,000, generating much excitement at the venue.
The FANUC booth received many visitors, where they saw the latest CNC, diverse applications of the collaborative robot CRX, new models, and machining demonstrations of ROBOMACHINEs. Such introduction of the most advanced technologies invited much positive feedback.

The FA corner featured the newest CNC systems consisting of the Series 500i-A and αi-D series SERVO. The exceptional performance and operability along with energy-saving features were highly appraised. Improvements in efficiency realized by the high-precision CNC digital twin with its original servo model technology attracted much attention. In addition, IoT (FIELD system Basic Package), AI, and robot introduction technologies were used to the fullest to achieve process improvements, workload reduction and energy saving. Visitors were fascinated by such technologies.

In the ROBOT corner, the diverse applications of the collaborative robot CRX, the new model M-1000 with a payload of 550 kg spraying a mold release agent for gigacasting, the high precision full-fledged machining robot M-800, which won the Robot Award of the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award, performing wet machining, captivated visitors.
Furthermore, the lightness of the new light-weight teach pendant and smartphone-like operability received many compliments.

In the ROBODRILL corner, machining demonstrations which introduced new functions such as the Machining mode setting function 2 and new G-codes, were the center of attention.
In the ROBOCUT corner, automated system with a robot and high-precision mold machining by the large α-C800iC were popular.
In the ROBOSHOT corner, pin insert molding of EV charging plug, which was produced with a mold machined by ROBOMACHINEs, won praises.

In the Service corner, FANUC’s approach to lifetime maintenance, diagnoses by IoT, and remote maintenance of ROBOTs appealed to visitors. FabriQR Contact’s screen display function was commended as being convenient for inquiries.
In the Academy corner, especially visitors from distant areas took interest in live seminars and on-demand seminars.
In the Survey corner, a questionnaire was requested to be filled in to improve customers’ experience (CX). Roughly 1,200 people responded.

FANUC’s latest CNC and ROBOTs were used by many exhibitors at JIMTOF2024 as well. Our sincere gratitude goes out to those who displayed our products.

On the night of the first day of JIMTOF2024, FANUC’s reception party was held. Many customers from Japan and overseas attended.

Heartfelt speeches were presented by honored guests, and participants freely enjoyed conversations while dining, turning the night into a most pleasant experience.
