FANUC CORPORATION

ROBOT New product: The World's First Global Explosion Proof Collaborative Paint Robot CRX-10iA/L Paint

FANUC will introduce an explosion proof variant of the popular collaborative robot CRX series. The world's first global ex-proof collaborative paint robot expands the range of applications for collaborative robots.

The world's first global ex-proof collaborative paint robot “CRX-10iA/L Paint” that complies with ex-proof standards in each country and region, will be an addition to the collaborative robot CRX series that is known for its ease of use even for first-time robot users.

The CRX-10iA/L Paint can be easily taught using direct teaching even in painting environments that require ex-proof specifications. By having a person directly move the robot in the same way that a worker would normally move a gun when painting, teaching a robot motion path can be done easily and accurately. Intuitive paint specific icon commands have also been added for paint applications. Features such as the highly sensitive contact stop functions have been carried over from the conventional CRX lineup.

The CRX-10iA/L Paint is an ex-proof paint robot based on CRX-10iA/L, with a payload of 10 kg and a reach of 1,418 mm. It allows painting of large workpieces by taking advantage of the long reach. It has the smooth and rounded design of the CRX series, and is lightweight at 45 kg. The control unit for ex-proof can be stacked on a lightweight and compact R-30iB Mini Plus controller, contributing to space savings. The CRX-10iA/L Paint is maintenance-free for 8 years like other CRX series, which also contributes to reduced running costs after installation.

The CRX-10iA/L Paint will be exhibited at both the AUTOMATE Show (USA) and FANUC Open House (Japan), which will be held in May. FANUC will demonstrate the ease of use of the CRX series in painting applications.

FANUC will start production of the CRX-10iA/L Paint in August 2024.
